HR TECH · BACKEND MODERNIZATION

Strengthening the backend infrastructure of an HR compliance platform

A client-facing HR compliance platform needed stronger APIs, database architecture, and third-party integrations on a scalable Azure foundation

The Challenge

An HR compliance platform serving federal contractors had a strong product vision, but its infrastructure needed to mature with the product. APIs needed better validation and error handling. Database schemas had to evolve safely as new features shipped. With multiple teams building in parallel, the platform needed cleaner service contracts to reduce reliability risk over time

The work had to stabilize and extend a system already in production. Every schema change, integration, and improvement needed to preserve backward compatibility and fit within the existing Azure environment

What We Built

V.Two built and maintained backend services, database architecture, and platform integrations, working directly with the client’s engineering and technical strategy teams

  • API Development — V.Two developed and maintained REST APIs across platform modules, with documentation standards that gave internal teams and integrations reliable contracts to build against
  • Database Architecture — V.Two managed schema updates, table creation, and query development across relational and NoSQL databases. Changes were designed to support new platform requirements without disrupting live data flow
  • Azure Infrastructure — V.Two supported the Azure-based deployment environment, including containerized services, asynchronous messaging, secure configuration, monitoring, and CI/CD workflows
  • Third-Party Integrations — V.Two connected the platform to email, messaging, and CRM workflows used to support client-facing operations and contractor relationships
  • Architectural Improvements — V.Two surfaced reliability and maintainability gaps during technical sessions with the client’s engineering leads, helping address issues before they became production risks

What the Client Owns

  • Documented backend services across platform modules
  • Backward-compatible database architecture for continued platform evolution
  • Azure-based deployment and CI/CD foundation
  • Integrated email, messaging, and CRM workflows
  • Architecture improvements built into the codebase
